If you could go back in time, buy, and bring back any Altec system for your listening enjoyment, what would it be?

...... and no bringing back a pallet of 755A's to sell, that would be the audio equivelant of wishing for more wishes :-) Let's keep it to a mono unit, or stereo pair!

I'll go first...... I think I'd buy a pair of 9864-8A (or equivlent DTS)..... or maybe whatever it is that was in the LA school that's pictured on the Lansing Heritage site(Edit:Lansing Manufacturing Monitor System 500A) ...... or a Shearer Horn. The 9864 would be the easy and most practical choise, but I'd love to have something early, too.



I've got to admit that my knowledge of the early systems is very limited, so I'm sure my choices could change if I were to take a look at more old pictures, or literature.
